He has acted in some of the most significant criminal cases of recent years. Before the Audiencia Nacional and the Supreme Court, Operation Mito, the face-masks case and the large-scale hydrocarbon VAT fraud proceedings; likewise, in the proceedings arising from operations Balcanes-Reus and Foxtrot (Cáceres).
Career
He brings to the firm an unusual international dimension: he has been a consultant to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for more than a decade, where he developed criminal investigation protocols now used by institutions across Europe and Latin America. He currently takes part in the UNODC Global Programme on Cybercrime, contributing to a capacity-building project in Central America that includes designing curricula for investigators, prosecutors and judges, updating technical guides on digital evidence and providing training in the presentation of forensic evidence before the courts.
Education and certifications
He holds the Master’s Degree in Legal Practice, which qualifies him for professional practice, and six further official university master’s degrees in Economic Criminal Law, Compliance, Criminalistics, Cybercrime, Cybersecurity and Computer Forensics. He has completed the prestigious Advanced Specialisation Course in Criminal Law at the ICAM, taught by judges of the Second Chamber of the Supreme Court such as Mr Manuel Marchena Gómez and Mr Vicente Magro Servet. He is accredited as a digital lawyer by the General Council of Spanish Lawyers and holds the International Compliance Officer (CICO) and Certified Cyber Security Professional (CCSP) certifications from ISMS Forum, as well as the International Certified Anti-Fraud Expert certification (CIE-AF). He maintains active continuing training in litigation and criminal procedural technique, cybercrime and artificial intelligence applied to law.
Research and teaching
He completed the doctoral training programme in Computer Science at UNIR and is a doctoral candidate in Law and Society at the International University of Valencia. He taught at university level for six years.
