Criminal defence in complex proceedings

Not all criminal proceedings are the same. A large-scale case with dozens of suspects, years of investigation and thousands of pages is not defended in the same way as a fast-track trial: it demands a team, a method and a real capacity for anticipation. That is Société Juridique’s territory.

We direct defences and prosecutions in especially serious proceedings, before Investigating Courts, Provincial Courts, the National High Court (Audiencia Nacional) and the Supreme Court, applying our LIWARD methodology: complete analysis of the case file from day one, a procedural risk map and critical decisions (whether to testify, appeal or negotiate) planned before they arise.

In these cases, the first phase conditions everything: a hasty statement or a poorly framed appeal during the investigation can prove irreversible at trial. That is why we intervene as early as possible, including 24h urgent assistance for detainees, with criminal lawyers accustomed to large-scale economic cases and proceedings with massive expert and digital evidence.

These are the areas in which we intervene most frequently. In all of them we act both for the defence and as private prosecutors, with the same rule: a strategy defined from the investigation stage and no improvised decisions.

PUBLIC HEALTH OFFENCES

Defence and prosecution in proceedings relating to public health offences, especially in cases of drug trafficking, organised networks, international operations or investigations of special technical and evidentiary complexity.

PUBLIC ORDER OFFENCES OF SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE

Action in proceedings of special relevance due to the seriousness of the facts, their social impact or the complexity of the investigation.

OFFENCES COMMITTED OUTSIDE SPAIN

Defence and prosecution in cases with an international dimension, acts committed abroad, application of the principle of universal jurisdiction or international judicial cooperation.

LARGE-SCALE CASES AND PROLONGED INVESTIGATIONS

Intervention in proceedings characterised by a lengthy investigation, accumulation of separate proceedings, abundant documentary or expert evidence and high technical complexity.

OFFENCES OF SPECIAL EVIDENTIARY COMPLEXITY

Criminal cases in which the assessment of the evidence (witness, expert, documentary or technical) is decisive and requires an advanced strategic approach.
